Macrobius is devoted to the 5th chapter of Gennady Massiliysky 's book “On Famous Men” . Gennady, referring to the work of Optat of 370, reports that Macrobius was initially the Presbyter of the Orthodox Church in Africa; and then transferred to Donatism , where the presbyter, later in 348 or in 349, was secretly the Bishop of the Donatists in Rome . As a kindergarten presbyter, Macrobius wrote a book of ethical content, in which he addressed all believers, especially chaste virgins , in his work Macrobius urged that moral purity and chastity be observed; Macrobius supported his ethical teachings with the teachings of Donat . As a writer, Macrobius gained fame among Katholians in Africa, and later became known among Donatists and Montanists in Rome. Books Macrobius not preserved.
