Club career
In adult football he made his debut in 1970 with appearances for the Southend United team, in which he spent three seasons, taking part in 75 championship matches.
His game for this team attracted the attention of the Crystal Palace club coaching staff, which he joined in 1973. He played for the London club for the next three seasons of his playing career. Most of the time spent at Crystal Palace was the main player on the team.
In 1976 he signed a contract with the Tottenham Hotspur club, which included spent the next four years of his career. Playing as part of the Tottenham Hotspur also mainly went on the field in the main team.
Subsequently, from 1980 to 1983, he played with Leighton Orient and leased for Oldham Athletic .
He completed his professional playing career at the Exeter City club, which performed in one of the regional divisions, in 1983-1984.
