Biography
Born on August 30, 1960 in the city of Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Territory. From 1978 to 1983 he studied at Tomsk State University with a degree in history, where he met his future wife.
Under the name of Donald Howard Heathfield ( English Donald Howard Heathfield ), together with his wife Elena Vavilova (under the name English Tracey Lee Ann Foley ) more than 20 years lived outside Russia, engaged in illegal intelligence activities. According to legend, Heathfield was the son of a Canadian diplomat , who actually died in 1962 at the age of 7 weeks [6] [7] , and graduated from high school in the Czech Republic . One Harvard friend noted that Heathfield kept abreast of the affairs of his classmates, including Mexican President Felipe Calderon . Vavilova, according to her legend, was born in Montreal in 1962 [7] .
In 1992-1995 he studied at Canadian University of York , where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in international economics . From 1995 to 1997, he studied at the Paris School of Business at the National School of Bridges and Roads , receiving a master's degree in international business ( English Master in International Business ). Since 1999, he lived in the United States. In 2000, he graduated from the John F. Kennedy School of Management at Harvard University with a master's degree in public and public administration.
From May 2000 to May 2006 he was a partner in the consulting company Global Partners Inc., whose clients were, in particular, such well-known companies as Alstom , Boston Scientific , General Electric and T-Mobile . [8] From May 2006 to December 2010, he headed another consulting company, Future Map, specializing in government and corporate strategic forecasting and planning systems, with branches in Paris and Singapore. Bezrukov was a member of the World Future Society , an organization once described by the Boston Herald as “a factory of thought for new technologies, at a conference of which leading experts in the field of public administration come together”. Thanks to this, Heathfield was able to make numerous acquaintances. In particular, he was familiar with Leon Fuerth, a former National Security Advisor to Vice President Albert Gore and professor of management at George Washington University, William Halal, who participated in the 2008 World Future Society conference. Halal described his relationship with Heathfield as warm. “I came across him at meetings in federal agencies, thought factories, and the World Future Society. I do not know anything that could be of interest from a security perspective. Everything that I provided to Don was published and available via the Internet. ”
Bezrukov and his wife lived in Cambridge (Massachusetts) . Elena Vavilova by that time graduated from McGill University and, before settling in the United States, lived in France. She worked at the Redfin real estate agency in Sommerville, Mass. , And also organized individual wine tours to France [7] .
In June 2010 he was arrested in the United States. On July 9, 2010, in Vienna, he was exchanged with four other Russian citizens together with 9 other Russian illegal intelligence agents.
Returning to Russia, Bezrukov was appointed adviser to the president of Rosneft . He is also an assistant professor at the Department of Applied Analysis of International Problems at MGIMO . In 2015, he published the book “Russia and the World in 2020. The contours of a troubled future. ” After his return, he gave his first interview to the Russian Reporter magazine in 2012 [9] . In 2015, he was a guest of the Saturday News with Sergey Brilev program on the Russia-1 television channel. On November 5, 2016, while abroad, he gave an interview on Skype to Rossiya-1 TV channel in anticipation of the US presidential election, while TV presenter Sergei Brilev noted that at the request of the interlocutor he could not publicly name the state from which Colonel Bezrukov contacted [10] .
Bezrukov is a frequent guest of the “Formula of Meaning with Dmitry Kulikov and Olga Podolyan” program on the Vesti FM radio station [11] and the 60-minute talk show on Russia-1 TV channel [12] . He is also a member of the Russian Cigar Union and takes an active part in its events. [13] [14]
In September 2017, Bezrukov took part in the “Forecasts” program with TV host Veronika Krasheninnikova on the Zvezda TV channel [15] .
A. Bezrukov holds the post of president of the “Security Export Association”, which is a non-profit organization and coordinates the work of domestic high-tech companies and the promotion of their interests in Russia and abroad [16] . The association plans to organize business missions. One of them was successfully held in Indonesia and Thailand in February 2017. [17]
Bezrukov regularly leads a column in the business newspaper Izvestia on current topics [18] [19] .
Personal life
- Wife - Elena Stanislavovna Vavilova . Since 2010, he has been working at PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel .
- Children - Tim (Timothy) (born 1990) and Alex (Alexander) (born 1994) [20] . Having received Russian passports, Tim and Alex Foley are currently attempting to regain Canadian citizenship and remain in Canada [21] .

He was awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" IV degree, the Order of Courage [22] , medals.
