The list of higher education institutions of the Vologda region includes educational institutions of higher and higher professional education located in the Vologda region and having a valid license for educational activities. The list of universities is given in accordance with the data of the consolidated register of licenses [1] , the list of branches includes organizations that participated in the monitoring of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in 2016 [2] . As of July 1, 2016, 5 universities and 6 branches [3] [4] [5] had a valid license in the Vologda Oblast.
Branches of universities whose parent organizations are located in other subjects of the federation are grouped in a separate list. The order of the list items is alphabetical.
