Leporius or Lepore ( Latin Leporius ; IV century - V century ) - Christian monk, presbyter, writer.

Born in Gaul , Leporius became a monk in Massilia , where he became fascinated by heretical teachings. Bishop Massilius Procule at the Cathedral Leporius was excommunicated. John Kassian in the book “On the Incarnation of the Lord, Against Nestorius” ( lat. “De incarnatione Domini contra Nestorium” ) reports that Leporius was carried away by the teachings of Pelagiev . The same is reported by Gennady Massiliysky in the 59th chapter of the book “On Famous Men” . Leporius went to Africa and met Augustine there . Thanks to Augustine, Leporius repented of his delusions and about 418 God wrote a penitential dogmatic essay “Libellus Emendationis Sive Satisfactionis” - “Certificate of Correction or Apology”. Libellus Emendationis Sive Satisfactionis was approved by the African bishops, led by Augustine, who subscribed to this text. The repentance of Leporia was accepted, but he did not return to Gaul, in 425 Augustine ordained Leporia as presbyters. In 430, when Cassian wrote his essay "On the Lord's Incarnation, Against Nestorius" Leporius was still alive, Leporia's fate was unknown.
