Career

Manuel Contepomi was born in Buenos Aires . His twin brother Felipe is also a rugby player, a long-time captain of the Argentine national team.

Manuel began his sports career in 1996 as part of the Argentinean team Newman , which he played with his brother before he moved to England. In the 2005/06 season, he played in Bristol , where Felipe played before him. After a short European career, he returned to his native Newman, where he ended his career in 2008.

He made his debut in the national team in 1998 and played more than 30 matches for the pumas. Participant of three world championships ( 1999 , 2003 , 2007 ). In total, he played 13 matches in the world championships and earned 3 attempts (in 2003 in a game with Namibia , and four years later against the same Namibians and in the semi-final against the South African team). In 2007, for the first time in the history of the Argentine rugby won the bronze world championship.
