Description
The size of the young individual, according to which the description is made, is about 6 mm. The main color is yellowish-gray. Cephalothorax 0.86 mm long, 0.68-0.98 mm wide. The species was first described in 2001 by the French paleontologist Wilson R. Lourenço ( Wilson R. Lourenço ; Laboratoire de zoologie (Arthropodes), Muséum national d'histoire naturelle , Paris , France ). The species epithet A. estephani is given in honor of Mr. Antoun Estephan , in whose collection a typical specimen of a new species is presented. The new family Archaeobuthidae is close to the families of Buthidae and Microcharmidae , but differs in small rounded spiracles, sculpture of teeth, and trichobotrial features [1] .
