Content
History
The NAPOLI group was formed by Ilya Kravchuk, Ilona Muntyan and Olga Shimanskaya in April 2012 in Minsk [1] . Participants of the festival Slavic Bazaar 2012 [2] .
2014
On January 10, 2014, the NAPOLI group took part in the national selection contest for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Belarus. The group performed the song “Stay With Me” and took eighth place, gaining 8 points (7 points out of 12 from viewers, 1 point out of 12 from the jury) [3] .
On March 25, 2014, the lead singer of the group, Ilya Kravchuk, was tragically killed [4] .
On July 2, 2014, the new soloist of the group Sergey Bolobolov was introduced [5] .
On December 26, 2014, the NAPOLI group took part in the national selection contest for Eurovision 2015 in Belarus. The group performed the song “My Dreams" and took sixth place, gaining 36 points (7 points out of 12 from viewers and 29 points from the jury) [6] .
2015
Since November 2015, the NAPOLI group has been presented as a solo project by Olga Shimanskaya [7] .
2016
On January 22, 2016 “NAPOLI” took part in the national selection contest for Eurovision 2016 in Belarus with the song “My Universe”. "NAPOLI" took the second place, having received 22 399 votes of viewers [8] .
On March 5, 2016, “NAPOLI” took part in the national selection contest for Eurovision 2016 in Poland with the song “My Universe”. “NAPOLI” took the ninth place, gaining 0.59% of the votes of viewers [9] .
On June 30, 2016, the soloist of the NAPOLI group Olga Shimanskaya was recognized as the best Belarusian performer according to the version of the music channel RUTV: Belarus. According to the results of the popular vote, Olga received 24.9% of the vote. .
2017
On January 20, NAPOLI participated in the final of the Belarusian national selection for Eurovision with the song “Let's come together” and took 5th place.
