In December 1552 he was sent as ambassador to England. He actively intervened in conspiracies and the preparation of rebellions against Maria Tudor , preparing the way for Elizabeth to come to power. Infant Philippe , annoyed by his actions, forbade Noah to appear at the wedding ceremony with the Queen, held in Winchester on June 25, 1554, and the French ambassador had to endure this offense.

In 1556 he was appointed admiral of the seas of Guyenne ( amiral des mers de Guyenne ) and general governor in this province. He organized coastal defense from the British and Spaniards. He assisted Bayonne , forcing Viceroy of Navarre, Don Beltran de la Cuevo, to abandon the siege of the city. With a granted letter of June 29, 1559, the king, in reward for his forty years of service, granted de Noai 800 livres of chamberlain salaries, from Bordeaux duties.
In 1561 he became mayor of Bordeaux . He expelled the Huguenots from the city. His death was rumored to have been caused by poison. He was buried in the church of Noai, where he erected a chapel, but his widow placed his heart in the cathedral of Saint-Andre in Bordeaux, under the pyramidal mausoleum.
The embassy reports of Antoine de Noai and his brothers Francois and Gilles , sent from London, were published in 1763 in Paris by Abbot Verto .
