Welding of silver - welding of products from silver and its alloys .

Welding Features
Welding of silver and alloys can be carried out by the following methods: gas welding , argon-arc welding with a non-consumable electrode, forging welding .
The peculiarity of silver welding is due to its properties. First of all, it is its high thermal and electrical conductivity . Therefore, for welding it is necessary to use concentrated heat sources and preheating the workpieces to 500-600 ° C.
A significant coefficient of thermal expansion of silver leads to stresses in the weld areas and deformations. Significant fluidity of silver makes it necessary to perform welding work in the lower or inclined position.
As filler material, filler wire of deoxidized aluminum is used. The flux is prepared from ethyl alcohol with brown and boric acid .
Dissimilar welding
Silver is welded with aluminum and copper . Welding with steel is difficult - they use special technological methods. For dissimilar metals welding, explosion welding and coiled cold welding are used .
