Yunnat Arboretum

"Yunnatsky Arboretum" ( Ukrainian "Yunnatsky Arboretum" ) is a dendrological park of local importance located in the Podolsky district of the city ​​of Kiev ( Ukraine ). Created March 9, 2006 . Area - 13.7 ha. Land User - National Ecological and Naturalistic Center for Student Youth of Ukraine.

History

The status of local dendrological park was assigned by Decision of the Kiev City Council No. 169/3260 of March 9, 2006 . It was created with the aim of preserving, protecting and using the most valuable examples of park construction for aesthetic, educational, environmental, scientific and recreational purposes.

Description

The arboretum is located between the historical sites Belichye pole , Kurenyovka and Vyshgorodsky massif ː limited by Vyshgorodskaya , Zamkovetskaya , Mostitskaya and Belitskaya streets. In the south adjoins a park-monument of landscape gardening art Birch Grove . It is the northern part of the previously unified park, divided and transferred to the Central Research and Pedagogical Agrobiostation (now the National Ecological and Naturalistic Center for Student Youth of Ukraine). In 1957, a winter garden was laid here. There is also a hydrobiology laboratory, administrative buildings, a meteorological site, a Yunnat children's camp (as part of the NENC), a school of folk crafts, and a pond.

There are information signs. The territory of the arboretum is fenced.

Nature

The modern species composition and landscape composition of the arboretum has been formed for more than 50 years by the efforts of students, teachers and employees of the NEC. The arboretum includes decorative flower growing areas, an orchard, a lilac garden, a memorial planting (1992, Memory of the genus ), linden and hornbeam alleys, examples of Ukrainian forests, a nursery, a magnolia garden (1998), a moss garden, and areas of preserved natural phytocenoses.

Over 200 species and forms of trees and shrubs grow on the territory of the arboretum. Particular attention should be paid to memorial plantations, as well as species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and other conservation lists, for example, Hungarian (Carpathian) lilacs , ginkgo , East Carpathian rhododendron , and yew berry . Dominant tree species ː acutifoliate maple , spruce , prickly , spruce linden , birch sapling , ordinary pine, common oak , horse chestnut , thuja western , mountain ash , walnut , Manchurian nut , white poplar , common hornbeam , lilac Hungarian .
