Karatygina, Alexandra Dmitrievna

Aleksandra Dmytrievna Karatygina ( April 16 (27), 1777 - May 25 ( June 6 ) 1859 ) - based on the stage of Karatygin the Elder (in connection with her daughter-in-law, the wife of her son another Alexandra Karatygin ), nee Polygalova ( I. A. Dmitrevsky renamed Perlova - on the whiteness of the skin) - a tragic Russian actress, student of Dmitrevsky.

In 1794 she graduated from the St. Petersburg Theater School under the direction of I.A. Dmitrevsky and in the same year she married Andrei Vasilyevich Karatygin . Together with her husband, she performed on the Petersburg stage of imperial theaters . It was especially successful in drama and tragedy, wonderfully playing the roles of Amalia (drama “The Son of Love”), Berta (drama “Hussites near Naumburg” by Kotzebue ), Eilalia (drama “Hatred of people and repentance” by Kotzebue). Cast loving mothers did not know rivals on the Russian stage.
