2nd Moscow Jewish Film Festival

The 2nd Moscow Jewish Film Festival is an international film festival that brings together feature films, documentaries, short films, and animated films on Jewish culture, history, national identity, and contemporary issues. The festival was held in Moscow from June 14 to 21, 2016 at four venues: [1] the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center , the Documentary Film Center , the GUM cinema [2] and the October cinema . Content

Opening movie

The opening film of the festival was the directorial debut of Natalie Portman - " A Tale of Love and Darkness ." A biographical film about the childhood of the famous Israeli novelist and journalist Amos Oz , one of the first (already in 1967) to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict by creating two states on Palestinian territory. [6] The opening took place in the first hall of the October cinema , which brought together about 1,600 spectators. [7]
