The author of a number of publications on the toponymy of St. Petersburg, the title author of the Toponymic Encyclopedia of St. Petersburg, executive secretary of the New Toponymic Journal.

Member of the Toponymic Commission since 1991. Member of the Bureau of the Toponymic Commission of St. Petersburg until 2016. Came out in 2016 in protest against the appropriation of the name of G. Poltavchenko Bridge Akhmat Kadyrov .
