Barbara Bedford ( born Barbara Bedford , née Violet May Rose ; 1903 - 1981 ) is a famous American silent film actress . She starred in dozens of silent films; after the appearance of sound in the cinema , she continued to act in small roles until 1945.

Biography
Born July 19, 1903 in the town of Eastman County Crawford, Wisconsin (according to other sources in the town Prairie du Chien of the same county [1] ).
She studied in Chicago , where she graduated from Lake View High School . After school, she went in search of happiness in Hollywood. She wrote many letters to actor William Hart , who helped her get a small role in the movie “ The Cradle of Courage ” in 1920. While working in the film The White Circle , she was noticed by another actor, John Gilbert, and recommended the young girl to director and screenwriter Maurice Turner . The turner offered her a role in the movie The Last of the Mohicans , where she played with Alan Roscoe , with whom she was subsequently married twice.
In 1925, she appeared with William Hart in their last joint film, Tumbleweeds . In 1926, she starred in two films Old Loves and New and Mockery along with Lon Cheney .
The actress's career began to fade with the advent of sound in the movie, but she signed a contract with MGM in 1936 and starred in 1945 when she played in her two final films - Girls of the Big House and The Clock .
Died October 25, 1981 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Barbara Bedford was married three times:
- Irvin Willat ( born Irvin Willat , married in 1921, divorced in 1922);
- Alan Roscoe ( born Alan Roscoe [2] , got divorced (1922–1928) and married again (1930–1933, before his death), their daughter was born);
- Terry Spencer ( English Terry Spencer , 1940-1954, until the death of her husband).
