Biography

In 1958 he graduated with honors from high school, and in 1963 - the metallurgical faculty of the Georgian Polytechnic Institute . He worked at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR [1] [2] .

From 1967 to 1994 he worked in the KGB system of the Georgian SSR and in 1981 he was transferred to work in the central apparatus of the KGB of the USSR , where he held positions from deputy head of department to head of department. He studied at senior courses of senior officers, having received the civilian specialty of a lawyer in international law [1] [2] .

From 1991 to 1995 he worked as Deputy Head of Department and Assistant to the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Security of the Russian Federation - the FSB . From 1995 to 1999, he held the position of Head of the Office - Advisor to the Minister of Security of the Russian Federation [1] [2] .

From 1995 to 1999, he worked as vice president of Macrodin Corporation, and from 1999 to 2004, he was senior adviser to the president of Norilsk Nickel. From 1997 to 1998, he also worked as an adviser to the president of ABN OJSC in Russia [1] [2] .

From 2003 to 2011, he was vice president of the President Service corporation, and also was an adviser to the governor of the Tver region of the Russian Federation [1] [2] .

Combatant . He was sent to work abroad CCCP: Germany, East Germany, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Egypt, Afghanistan, Mongolia and other countries. He was awarded orders and medals, including from foreign countries [1] [2] .

Literary work

In 2008, he published a book of the memoir genre “Shavi satvale eketa”, in Russian - “The man with black glasses” [2] [3] .

In 2010, he published a book in the genre of political journalism “Rodemdis ?!” (“How long ?!”) [2] [4] .

In 2012, he published an autobiographical documentary book, Chemi Tskhovrebis Agmarti (The Rise of My Life) [2] [5] . In the same year, a collection of poems was published (together with his son, Gia Potskhveria) [2] [6] .
