Battle of Gulnabad

The battle of Gulnabad - the battle of March 8, 1722 between the forces of the Safavid Empire and the Afghan troops of the Hotakov dynasty. The victory of the Afghans cemented the fall of the Safavid dynasty, which had declined for many decades.

After the war was won, the Hotakov troops slowly but surely advanced deep into Persia and eventually reached Isfahan , the capital of the Safavids. The losses of the Persian troops are believed to be from 5,000 to 15,000 people.
