OpenACS is an open web framework focused on creating community sites (and, in particular, on e-learning ). It comes with ready-made solutions, such as a forum , a news site , e-learning, an online store , etc. Written in Tcl using the object-oriented extension XOTcl . Works under the control of AOLServer (or its fork , ), uses PostgreSQL or Oracle as a database.

OpenACS is a fork of the non-developing ArsDigita Community System (ACS) framework since 2001 [1] . This system took a different path, and its latest branch, 4.7.x, was rewritten from Tcl to Java .
On the basis of OpenACS [2] , the project-open project (more precisely,] project-open [) is also being developed - an open project management system [3] .
