The officers' school was formed as a result of the merger of three pre-existing officer educational institutions: the Cossack school, the Gendarme school and the Military school.
Since 1935, the Officer School began training cavalry officers, artillery and engineering specialists for the Ground Forces , the Air Force and the Naval Forces of the Iranian Imperial Army .
In 1989, the school was transformed into the Officers Academy. In 1996, the Academy of Officers was named after Imam Ali .
