Biography
Zhou Ruiyang started playing go at the age of 7. In 2002, he became the winner of a major Chinese go tournament among amateurs - the Wanbao Cup, and in the same year he received the rank of 1 professional dan . However, he did not study in a vocational school of go and did not use the services of a professional teacher [1] . In 2006, he, having a rank of 4 dan, defeated Kun Jie in the fight for a place in the final of the Tianyuan title draw, but still lost to Gu Li in the final. Then Zhou Ruiyang became the youngest applicant for this title (he was 15 years old) [2] . The first title he won was Xinren Wang . In 2013, Zhou Ruiyang won the highest rank - 9 professional dan - after winning the Bailing Cup [1] .
