Construction History

Traffic between cities has already been carried out by other railways, there is the usual Chengdu-Chongqing Railway , and also a high-speed route through Suining , but this project was able to significantly reduce travel time by introducing tunnels and dams. Four main dams and two tunnels were built on the highway.

Construction of the road began on March 22, 2010 from Chongqing, and the Sichuan part of the road began to be built on November 11. The last tunnel was broken on December 16, 2013, and the opening of the road was planned by the end of 2014. Passenger traffic began on December 26, 2015, to Chongqing - North Station, and Shapingba Station was opened in January 2016 after repairs, allowing trains to head to Chongqing Main Station. [2]

The road is part of a network designated as the Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdu High-Speed Passenger Line .
