He was a bishop of the city of Fano , then a legate in Venice . In the early 1570s he lived in Rome and was considered one of the main mediators between the papal throne and the French royal court. In a poetic letter to the Duke, Urbino supported the Carnage of the Huguenots organized by Charles IX - Bartholomew’s Night [1] .
He published Ad Jacobum Boncompagnum versus, cum epistola Pauli Manutii (Rome, 1573 ) and Hippolyti Capilupi carmina (Antwerp, 1574 ).
