Biography
Attila Veg was born on August 9, 1985 in the city of Danube-Streda , Czechoslovakia . He spent his childhood in the village of Gabchikovo, at the age of fifteen he began to engage in wrestling, at sixteen he switched to kempo karate - later he won many titles in this discipline, including becoming the champion of Europe and the world, won the Hungarian national championship fourteen times, received a black belt and second dan.
In professional fights, MMA debuted in March 2008, defeating its first opponent with the elbow lever in the first round. He fought quite often, for example, in the first year of his career he managed to win nine victories in a row - mainly at tournaments in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The first loss in his career was in May 2009 at the KSW tournament in Poland by unanimous decision from a local fighter, Lukasz Jurkowski.
Continuing to take part in the battles, he appeared in many promotions in Central and Eastern Europe, prevailed over such eminent rivals as Aslambek Saidov , Egidijus Valavičius , Baga Agaev , reduced the match with Adlan Amagov to a draw.
Thanks to a series of successful performances in 2012, he attracted the attention of the major American promotion Bellator MMA and made his debut here with a separate decision victory over Daniel Spon. Later he became a participant in the light heavyweight grand prix, where he successively passed all three of his rivals and thereby won the right to challenge the Bellator champion title, which at that time belonged to the Frenchman Christian M'Pumba . The champion battle between them took place in February 2013, and Veg won by unanimous decision [1] .
Nevertheless, Attila Veg did not remain the Bellator champion for long, already in March 2014, during the first defense of his title by a split decision, he was defeated by the American Emanuel Newton , whom he had previously won in the grand prix semifinal, also a split decision. In August of that year, among the twelve other fighters, he was fired from Bellator [2] [3] .
In 2015, Vega was offered to challenge the vacant KSW light heavyweight title, but another contender, the Croatian Goran Relic , turned out to be stronger, having won by a separate decision of the judges. In June 2016, he fought for the heavyweight category M-1 Challenge , was knocked out by the current champion of the organization Alexander Volkov from Russia.
