Biography
Born in a merchant family. In 1903 he graduated from the medical faculty of Kharkov University , where he worked since 1904; since 1920 - privat-docent , while defending his doctoral dissertation, his opponent was I.P. Pavlov. In the years 1921-1923. - Professor of the Department of Diagnostics and Propaedeutics; since 1923 he headed the clinic of internal diseases of the dental institute; at the same time, in 1924-1934. - Head of the therapeutic department of the clinic of the Ukrainian X-ray and Radiological Institute (nowadays S.P. Grigoriev Institute of Medical Radiology NAMU), since 1930 - head of the clinic of the All-Ukrainian Institute of Nutrition.
The author of scientific research on the problems of clinical oncology , hematology , gastroenterology . In particular, he studied the problems of treating gastritis , as well as its relationship with ulcer and cancer of the stomach.
Co-editor of the two-volume manual "Clinic of malignant tumors" (Kharkov, 1930-1931).
His wife was Berta Evzorovna Lifshits (nee Mazel), had a history education, lived to be 92 years old (1884-1976). Sister of Mazel Zinovy Evgenievich (Zundel Evzorovich), who designed the cable cars of the Volzhsky Hydroelectric Power Station and the first one on Cheget. Nephew M.I. Lifshits - Evgeny Zinovievich Mazel, Doctor of Technical Sciences, specialist in the field of transistors in the USSR.
