The population of this district for 2009 is 4,541 people (3,016 in 1999 ).
History
In connection with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 4, 1993 No. 2001 “On the ordering of transcription of Russian toponyms in Russian, naming and renaming of separate administrative and territorial units of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the old name of the village, Dzhambul , was changed to Zhambyl .
