Konstantin Kapitanul (actually Konstantin Filippescu about the nickname "captain", rum. Constantin Căpitanul Filipescu ) - Romanian chronicler of the XVII century . According to some reports, the nephew of Prince Wallachia Shcherban II Kantakuzin [1] .
He outlined in his chronicle “The History of the Lords of Wallachia” ( rum. Istoriile Domnilor Tarii Romanesti ) the history of his homeland from the 13th century to the second half of the 17th century . It testifies to a great acquaintance with the Moldavian chronicles. The continuation and the new edition of the chronicle were carried out in 1728 by Radu Popescu , and Radu Grecanu is also considered the successor of the Captain.
