Content

General information

The journal was founded as a specialized scientific non-periodical publication (book 1). However, since 1927 (books 2-3) came out as a periodical, popular science publication. It was a printed organ of the Central Archive Administration (CAU) of the Ukrainian SSR. Its circulation ranged from 750 to 1400 copies. A total of 21 issues in 17 books were published [1] .

In 1931, the magazine was published under the name "Soviet Archive".

Organizational

The editorial board was chaired by the head of the TsAU of the Ukrainian SSR. The scientific editor was D. Bagaliy , executive secretary - E. Ivanov. In different years, the editorial board included: V. Veretennikov , M. Glivenko, F. Gerasimenko, M. Rubach , S. Semko-Kozachuk, O. Senchenko, S. Tetin, R. Shpunt [2] .

In the existing sections “On Archival Techniques”, “On the Activities of Central and District Archival Departments”, “Decisions, Instructions and Most Important Orders in Archival Affairs”, “On the Union”, “Abroad”, “Criticism and Bibliography”, questions of theory and archival techniques, archival life in the USSR and abroad, information was provided on the activities of central and local archival departments, bibliographic information, there was also a consulting department [3] .

The main authors of the journal included: A. Barabashov, V. Barvinsky , A. Vodolazhchenko, Y. Zhdanovich, V. Maksakov, V. Miyakovsky, V. Nikitin, A. Ogloblin , V. Romanovsky , K. Kharlampovich , P. Fedorenko , I. Shabatin, M. Yanovsky [2] .
