Bogatsky, Karl-Henry

Karl-Heinrich Bogatsky ( German: Karl Heinrich von Bogatzky ) (1690-1774) - German theologian- pietist , author of 441 evangelical hymns. Born in the village of Jankove in Lower Silesia (now Poland ). He was brought up as a page at the court of the Duke in Weissenfels . Having undergone a spiritual rebirth, he left the courtyard. In 1715 he moved to Galle , where he began to study theology. He wrote a series of moralizing theological works.
