Crater Description

The neighborhood of Walker Crater. A fragment of the map of the far side of the moon [1] .

The closest neighbors of Walker Crater are the Snyadetsky Crater in the west-north-west; Mokhorovichich crater in the north-north-west; Wilsing Crater in the northeast; Plummer Crater in the east; Apollo Crater in the southeast and Rumford Crater in the west-southwest. To the northwest of the crater is Oblivion Lake [2] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 32.9 km [3] , depth 2 km [4]

Walker Crater is close to circular with a small protrusion in the eastern part and moderately destroyed. The rampart is somewhat flattened, but retained a fairly clear outline; in the northern and southern parts it is marked by several small craters. The inner slope of the shaft is smooth. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 940 m [4] , the volume of the crater is approximately 719 km³ [4] . The bottom of the bowl is relatively flat, in the western part of the bowl there is a noticeable small crater.
