Ukrainian ; Father Efrem Moiseevich ( 1911-1963 ) and mother Elizaveta Vasilyevna ( 1917-1999 ) - peasants; wife Lyudmila Leonidovna ( 1950 ) - retired; daughter Oksana ( 1974 ) - doctor of the Kiev National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P. Shupyk ; son Maxim ( 1976 ) - economist, entrepreneur; son Vladimir ( 1980 ) - economist, assistant at the Kiev National University of Economics .
Education : Uzhgorod State University , Faculty of Medicine ( 1969 ), doctor; doctoral thesis "Brain injuries in people of different ages."
