History
The fortress was built at the end of the 18th century under the leadership of General Alexander Suvorov .
From 1922 to 1939, there was a camp for refugees from the USSR in the fortress. A total of 700 refugees arrived from the territory of the Soviet Union.
From 1939 to 2005, the fortress belonged to the Finnish Defense Forces .
Since 2017, it is planned to make the fortress accessible to visitors [1] .
