Heraclides Lemb - an ancient Greek official, diplomat, historian and philosopher, in the II century BC. e. living and working in Egypt . The nickname "Lemb" means "ship's boat." The philosopher Agatharchid was his secretary, which indicated the high status of Heraclides [1] .

Biography
Biographical data are scarce and sketchy. He lived at the court of Ptolemy VI . It is believed that Heraclides took part in peace negotiations, as a result of which an agreement was concluded that stopped the invasion of Antiochus IV in Egypt in 169 BC. e. [2]
Works
His works (in many respects we are talking about the epitopes of earlier authors) have come down to us in the form of fragments.
- Stories (Ἱστορίαι), at least 37 books, five passages have survived.
- Lembeutikos Logos (Λεμβευτικὸς λόγος), nothing is known about the work except the name associated with the author’s name
- Epitome on the book of Sotion of Succession . [3]
- Epitome on the book of Satyr Peripatetics About lifestyle . [four]
- Epitome on the work of Hermipp On the legislators . [five]
- Excerpts from the works of Aristotle, valuable in that these works themselves are mostly lost
- The biography of Archimedes (doubtful) is mentioned by Yevtokiy Askalonsky [6] .
Criticism
He was criticized for the Asian (as opposed to Attic) style of texts, craving for sensationalism and emotionality.
