Vladimir Dmitrievich Monogarov (born 1926) - Soviet and Ukrainian mountaineer , Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1967), Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor of physiology.

Biography
Graduated from Kiev State Institute of Physical Culture . For fourteen years he led the problem laboratory of high training loads. He climbed and worked in expedition camps in the Caucasus, the Pamirs , and also abroad. In old age he continued to climb, worked in the Himalayan camps, planned to conquer Everest at a record age [1] , but did not find sponsors .
In total, he made 18 first ascents, seven of which were along the routes of the sixth (highest) category of difficulty [2] .
Personal life
Has a son and daughter, as well as grandchildren [1] .
