Prince Rodion (Radukan) Matveevich Kantakuzen ( Radu Cantacuzino ; 1725 - 1774 ) - Wallachian colonel, participant in the Russian-Turkish war of 1768-74. Ancestor of the Russian branch of the Wallachian Cantacuzenes .
The nephew of the Wallachian Spatarius Pirvu Kantakuzen , who was killed in a skirmish with the Turks in 1769, Radukan Kantakuzen joined the head of the volunteer detachment in the army of Count Rumyantsev against the Turks and participated in the battle of Cahul . Subsequently, he was accepted into the Russian service along with a regiment formed by him from the natives of Wallachia.
From his marriage to Catherine Mavrokordato (d. 1811), had sons Ivan (1756-1828) and Nikolai (1761-1841). His niece, Roksana Mikhailovna, was the wife of combat general A.P. Melissino .
