Palmyra, Queen of Persia

“Palmira, Queen of Persia” ( Italian: Palmira, regina di Persia ) is an opera in two acts by composer Antonio Salieri , written on the libretto by Giovanni de Gamerra . The opera premiered at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna on October 14, 1795 . Palmira was performed 39 times in Vienna until 1798, and at the beginning of the 19th century the opera was staged in Germany , translated into German . "Palmyra" was considered the most successful opera among the late works of Salieri [1] .
