Biography
Since 1955, graduating from MSTU. N. E. Bauman , worked as the head of the technological and design bureau of the Vladimir production association "Tochmash" [2] .
Since September 1963, he has been teaching at the Vladimir branch of the Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering (now Vladimir State University [3] ): associate professor, head of the Department of Precision Mechanics Devices (1969–1973), vice-rector for scientific work (1988–1991), professor of the department "Instrument-making and information-measuring technologies" [1] [2] .
Scientific activity
In 1962, at the MSTU. N.E. Bauman defended his thesis, in 1984 - a doctoral dissertation.
L. M. Samsonov made a great contribution to the formation and development of the Vladimir Polytechnic Institute, the organization and improvement of scientific and educational processes. He prepared lecture courses and teaching aids on the main disciplines of the instrument-making specialty, including on new issues of special equipment.
He established himself as a major scientist in the field of dynamic testing of instrumentation devices. He developed the scientific basis for reproducing a wide range of overloads acting on instrumentation devices during the complex movement of controlled and uncontrolled aircraft. Under his leadership and direct participation, new methods and tools have been created and implemented that allow reproducing on the stands a spatial complex of mechanical loads corresponding to actual operating conditions. The solution to this problem made it possible to accelerate the creation of new types of special equipment, increase their reliability, reduce the volume of field tests and obtain a significant economic effect [1] .
The research results were introduced at enterprises of the former Ministry of Engineering and the Ministry of Defense Industry. They were used in scientific research and the educational process of Vladimir State Technical University, as well as in MSTU. N. E. Bauman, Baltic State University, Penza State University and other universities [1] .
The scientific works of L. M. Samsonov are known to a wide circle of specialists. Under his scientific supervision and direct participation, a set of contractual research topics was completed, 18 of which were carried out according to government decrees. He owns more than 190 scientific works, including the monograph “Rotational Test Methods for Instrument Devices” and 65 inventions. The results of the scientist's research are included in the reference materials for the design of test benches. L. M. Samsonov created a scientific school for testing instrumentation devices, on the basis of which Russian and international conferences are regularly held with the participation of leading universities of the country and representatives of industry. He prepared 16 candidates of technical sciences working both in higher education and in production.
Under his scientific supervision, the institute completed the first contractual topic, created the first councils for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations, and defended the first candidate dissertation.
Elected academician of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences [4] and the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts [1] .
