In 1997-2009 Director of the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Scientific works in the field of biochemistry and plant physiology. He conducted research in the field of composition, structure and functional activity of intracellular organelles, biosynthetic systems of plant cells. He determined the specificity of plastids during polyploidization of the cell nucleus, proposed a hypothesis of physiological and biochemical interaction of nuclei and plastids during tissue differentiation and in plant ontogenesis. He showed species and variety specificity of potato proteins and individual triticale enzyme systems. Conducted a biochemical study of transgenic plants. He contributed to the study and determination of ways to use the reserve and biologically active substances of plants in the food industry, the introduction of developed technologies in production.
The author of more than 400 scientific papers, t. L. 11 monographs, 2 copyright certificates, 12 patents.
