Biography
Born on March 13, 1859 in a peasant family in the village of Vorklytsy (Reckelwitz) in Serboluzhitsky. After graduating from elementary school in his native village, he worked as a shepherd. In 1873-1874 he studied at the Catholic Pedagogical School. From 1874 to 1881 he studied theology at the Lusatian Seminary in Prague . At the same time, he studied in a German-language gymnasium in the Middle East . In 1881–1882 he served in Bautzen, after which he returned to Prague, where he continued his theological education. In 1882, he joined the Serbu-Luzhsk cultural and educational society " Matitsa Serbo-Luzhitskaya " (from 1908 to 1932 he was the secretary of this organization). In 1884–85, he headed the Serbovuzh student fraternity Serbovka .
After returning to Lusatia in 1885-1886, he served as a priest in Budishin and from 1886 to 1895 - administrator in Radvor . As an administrator in Radvor, he renovated the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Queen of the Rosary. In 1895-1896 he was the chaplain of the royal church in Dresden and since 1896 he has been the abbot in Radvor. In 1903 he was appointed rector of the Serboluzhitsk church in Budishin. From 1912 until his death in 1932 - canon of the consistory of the Cathedral of St. Peter . In 1921 he was awarded the title of prelate.
In 1885 he founded the magazine Łužiski Serb. He was his long-term editor. In 1904-1906, 1908-1909 and 1914-1916 he was the editor-in-chief of the magazine Katolski Posoł . He wrote several children's books and comedies.
After the death of Yakub Scali headed the Society of Cyril and Methodius .
