Thinking Machines Corporation

Thinking Machines Corporation is an American company manufacturing mini-supercomputers . It was founded in 1983 by Daniel Hillis and Sheryl Handler with the aim of converting Hillis's doctoral dissertation on the original mass-parallel computer architecture into a commercial product called Connection Machine . The company went bankrupt in 1994. The remainder of the company, including its software and hardware departments, was later purchased by Sun Microsystems .
