Biography
Esther started diving since she was 11 years old and participated in many national Chinese competitions until her family moved to Australia in 2009 [1] .
The first major success in the career of an Australian was the silver medal at the Universiade 2013 in Kazan in synchronized diving with Samantha Mills [2] . In 2014, Esther Qin continued to perform successfully, winning gold in individual competitions from a three-meter springboard and bronze at the meter-board springboard at the Commonwealth Games [3] . At the 2015 World Championships, Esther, together with Samantha Mills, achieved a high result in synchronized jumps from a three-meter springboard: they won a bronze medal in a bitter struggle, ahead of the Ukrainian duet, which became the fourth, by 1.35 points [4] .
In May 2016, Qin became only the fourth in the national Olympic selection, not receiving an assessment for one of the jumps, but by decision of the coaching staff was included in the Olympic team. Also, the misfortune befell Qin in synchronized jumps, where Esther and Samantha Mills lost to the duet Maddison Keene - Annabel Smith [5] . On August 14, Qin performed in the final of the individual jumps from the 3-meter springboard . During all five jumps, Esther showed stable average results, which were only enough to take the final 6th place.
