History
The bridge was built in 1955-1959 on the site of the former ferry crossing , which was of great importance for the city in the past. The construction was carried out by the bridge train No. 413. It took three years to erect the bridge supports, the span - one year. The total cost is estimated at 24.5 million rubles [1] .
The construction of the Leningrad bridge influenced the formation of adjacent natural territories - the future Victory Park and Bird's Harbor . During the construction on the banks of the Zamarayka River, soil was removed for the dam of the highway, resulting in a foundation pit [2] .
In 1988 it was renovated [1] .
