Over the 5 years of its existence, the group released 2 albums: “Kaleo” (2013) and “A / B” (2016), as well as 1 EP - “Glasshouse” (2013).
Biography
The band’s first appearance was at the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in November 2012. The song “Vor í Vaglaskógi”, which gained rotation on the Icelandic city radio station Rás 2 and entered the top 10 best songs of the radio station, brought the first fame. [2] . Also, the track was seen in the first part of the Icelandic television series Trapped .
In 2014, the group released the single, “All the Pretty Girls,” with over 18 million hits on Spotify . [3]
In early 2015, Kaleo signed with Atlantic Records [4] and gradually moved to the city of Austin (Texas) . [5] .A debut at South by Southwest (SXSW) in 2015 entered Esquire ’s “40 Bands You Need to Hear” [6] and “The Austin 100: SXSW 2015 Feature and All Songs Considered SXSW 2015 Music Preview” ratings. . The single “All the Pretty Girls” took 9th place on the Adult Alternative Songs chart . [7]
In August 2015, the single “Way Down We Go” was released. The song was seen on Blindspot and Eyewitness , became the soundtrack in FIFA 16 , in season 5 of the series Suits , in the series Lucifer (Lucifer), in the sixth episode of season 1 of the series Frequency (Radio Wave), in the 15th episode of the 13th season of the series Anatomy of Passion , in the series "SuperGirl". She sounded in episode 6 of season 8 of the Vampire Diaries series, in the film Collateral beauty (Ghostly Beauty) [8] , as well as the trailer for the series Orange Is the New Black . [9] . In 2016, this song became one of the main themes of the Russian-Ukrainian TV series Hotel Eleon [10] , was used in seasons 2 and 3. In the US, she ranked 8th on the Adult Alternative Songs chart , and 9th on the Hot Rock Songs chart . Also hit the charts in Canada. On January 19, 2017, the final trailer for the Logan movie was released, in which “Way Down We Go” sounded.
