Biography

Born on June 9, 1939 in the village of Voloskovtsy, Mensky District, Chernihiv Region.

He graduated in 1961 from the Kharkov Art School, in 1967 - the Moscow Higher Art School of Art and Industry named after S. G. Stroganov (specialty "Monumental-decorative Art").

During 1967 - 1971 he worked as an artist-architect at the Kievproject Institute. Since 1995 - chief artist of the Memorial complex "Museum of the Great Patriotic War."

Since May 2001 - member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine . Member of the Central Board of the All-Ukrainian Society "Prosvita" named after T. G. Shevchenko . Member of the People’s Union “Our Ukraine” [1] .

Since 1971 - member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine [2] .

In 2006, he was a candidate for people's deputies of Ukraine from the Our Ukraine bloc (No. 206 in the list).

From December 2005 to October 2006, he was a freelance Advisor to the President of Ukraine.

The main artist of the Memorial complex "Museum of the Great Patriotic War" [1] . Member of ASU . Lives in Kiev [1] . Member of the creative association "The View".

He is the author of the design of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve on Fr. Khortytsya (1977–1988), the museums of N. A. Ostrovsky in Shepetovka (1979), M. M. Kotsyubinsky in Chernigov (1982–1983), T. G. Shevchenko in Kiev (1984–1987), the Literary Museum in Odessa ( 1984-1985), a branch of the Central Museum of V. I. Lenin (1980-1982; now - the Ukrainian House ); the artistic solution of the interiors of the bank “Ukraine” in Kiev (1994), the interiors of the administration of the cultural center “Russia” in Harbin (1997, China ), the church of the Holy Trinity (1998–1999, Macedonia ), the decoration of the National Museum “Chernobyl” in Kiev (1994 —1996). He created the painting cycle “Crucifixion” (1988–1990), a participant in the project “Museum of Water Disasters” and the like.

Participant of Ukrainian and international exhibitions in Sweden , Denmark , Germany , Poland , Hungary , the Czech Republic , Slovakia , etc.
