Club career
Ilir Azemi was born in Pristina , the Kosovo capital, but when he was 3 years old his family moved to Germany because of the conflict in the region. Azemi began his professional career as a football player in the Greuther Furth team. On August 25, 2012, Azemi made his debut for the club in the German Bundesliga , replacing the home match against Bayern Bayer Jibi Fall in the 62nd minute [2] . On May 4, 2013, Azemi scored his first goal in the Bundesliga, scoring the second goal of Greuther in a winning guest game against Stuttgart [3] .
In the 2013/14 season, Azemi played in the Second Bundesliga in the “Greuther” and with 13 goals he became the team's top scorer and the third in the overall list of the tournament.
On August 7, 2014, Azemi was seriously injured in a car accident [4] .
Career in the national team
On March 5, 2014, Ilir Azemi made his debut for the national team of Kosovo in a friendly match against the national team of Haiti , coming out in the starting lineup [5] .
