Dmitry Grigorievich Belous ( 1920-2004 ) - Soviet and Ukrainian poet , translator from the Bulgarian language, literary critic, public figure. Author of collections of humor and satire, books for children, articles, literary studies about the work of Ukrainian writers.

Born on April 24, 1920 in the village of Kurmany (now Nedrigaylovsky district , Sumy region , Ukraine ) in a large peasant family of Anna Davydovna and Gregory Nikolayevich Belousov. Ukrainian . As Dmitry Grigorievich himself recalled, “the family of my father was, like that Omelechka, about whom the folk song sings ... There were eleven of us. I was the tenth child, just a “doll in the cradle,” when the elders were already single and married ”.
After graduation, he went to Kharkov , where he studied at the workers' school and worked at the electric plant. In 1938 he entered the philological faculty of Kharkov University . His fellow students were O. Gonchar and G. M. Tyutyunnik .

With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941 a volunteer went to the Red Army . August 13, 1941 was seriously wounded. Until August 1942 he was treated in a hospital in the city of Krasnoyarsk . Then in Moscow he was a member of the editorial staff of the radio broadcasting for partisans and the population of the occupied territories of Ukraine. He wrote humoresques for the radio magazine "Satirical Salvo", was published in the magazine "Pepper", wrote poems for partisan leaflets.
- In 1945 he graduated from the philological faculty of the Taras Shevchenko KSU .
- In 1948 he graduated from graduate school at the department of Ukrainian literature.
- Member of the SKU since 1948.
- In 1947-1951 - deputy editor- in -chief of the Dnipro magazine .
- In 1968-1976 - responsible secretary of the commission of the Writers' Union of Ukraine.
- corresponding member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine since March 1994, honorary academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine since 2000, chairman of the artistic translation commission of the Union of Writers of Ukraine since 1976.
He died on October 13, 2004 . He was buried in Kiev at the Baikov Cemetery .
