Biography

Born in the village of Koznica (community of Vladičin Khan , Serbia ) in 1948. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade . He began his service in the police of the SFRY, worked as an assistant in a group of forensic experts in Zayechar , and then became an officer. Later Djordjevic commanded units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kosovo. After the collapse of the SFRY, he returned to Belgrade. In 1994, after the reorganization, he was appointed head of the Police Department of Yugoslavia. From 1997 to 2001, he headed the public security department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yugoslavia [2] . In 1997 he was promoted to colonel general (previously had the rank of lieutenant general). He was awarded July 7, 1999 by order of Slobodan Milosevic Order of the Yugoslav flag with a ribbon (I degree).

After leaving the post of head of the public security department, Djordjevic remained working as an adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and retired in May 2001 after he began to receive allegations of trafficking in organs from the bodies of Kosovo Albanians killed during the Kosovo war . Georgievich soon left the country: for a long time it was assumed that he was hiding in Russia. In October 2003, the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia Djordjevic committed crimes against Kosovo Albanians in 1999, noting that he, as head of the public security department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was responsible for all actions of subordinate units located in Kosovo. In August 2006, another criminal case was opened in Belgrade against Djordjevic: he was accused of ordering the liquidation of the Bitichi brothers who had passports of US citizens on July 9, 1999 .

June 17, 2007 Djordjevic was arrested in Montenegrin Budva [3] . The ICTY case began in January 2009, and on February 23, 2011 Djordjevic was sentenced to 27 years in prison: he was found guilty on all five counts of charges [4] [5] . On January 27, 2014, after considering the appeal, the court reduced the sentence to 18 years in prison [6] [7] .
