Biography
Born on March 28, 1938 in the village of Novaya Kamenka (now Zholkovsky district , Lviv region , Ukraine ) in a peasant family, which was sent to Siberia for helping Ukrainian nationalists.
The brother of film director Yaroslav Lupiy and the first director of the Lviv Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Lychakiv Cemetery” Grigory Lupiy.
Education
- He studied at the medical school ( Lutsk ).
- He graduated from the philological faculty of the KSU named after T. Shevchenko (1961).
Career
He worked in the editorial offices of newspapers, in the publishing house "Soviet writer." For a long time he was the executive secretary of the NSPU Council, the deputy chairman of the NSPU.
Awards and prizes
- Honored Artist of Ukraine (1998) [1] .
- State Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko (1994) .— for the novel “The Fall of the Ancient Capital”, the story “Hetman's Mace”
