The Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic ( Slovak Ministerstvo dopravy, výstavby a regionálneho rozvoja Slovenskej republiky ) is one of the ministries of the Slovak Republic . Located in the building of the Office of Transport ( Bratislava ).

The ministry has changed its name and scope several times. According to Law No. 298/1991 of the Code of Laws, it was established as the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Slovak Republic , [1] according to Law No. 453/1992 of the Code of Laws was renamed the Ministry of Transport, Transport and Public Works of the Slovak Republic , [2] according to Law No. 74/1995 The Code of Laws was renamed the Ministry of Transport, Post and Telecommunications of the Slovak Republic . [3] In accordance with Law No. 403/2010 of the Code of Laws, according to which the powers of certain ministries were changed (entered into force on November 1, 2010 ), the Ministry was transferred the powers of the abolished Ministry of Construction of the Slovak Republic, and the Ministry received the authority to solve tourism issues. [4] In accordance with the above law, from January 1, 2011 the Ministry was vested with the powers of the central authority of the European Union funds, which until December 31, 2010 were directly managed by the Slovak Government.

The Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic is the central public administration body of the Slovak Republic on the following issues:

  4. land communications
  5. inland navigation , ports , maritime navigation
  6. civil Aviation
  7. post office
  8. telecommunications
  9. military forces in transport
  10. informatization of society
  11. building
  12. tourism

Past Activities

In 1991 - 1995, the Ministry was the central government body of the Slovak Republic in the field of transport within the scope of the Slovak Republic. Between 1992 and 1995, the Ministry was also the central public administration body of the Slovak Republic for investment development and public works.

Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development

The Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development is managed and responsible for its activities by the Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development, appointed and dismissed by the President of the Slovak Republic at the request of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.

The current minister is Roman Brezey. [five]

State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development

The authority to replace the Minister of Transport during his absence (within the framework of his rights and duties) is vested in the Secretary of State. In other cases, the Minister may also allow the Secretary of State to represent himself within the framework of his rights and duties. When the Minister is represented at government meetings, the Secretary of State has an advisory vote. The state secretary appoints and relieves the government at the request of the Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development. In some cases, the Government has the appointment of two state secretaries - this also applies to the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development. The Minister himself determines on what issues and in what order the secretaries of state will represent him.

Since April 11, 2012, the state secretaries of the Ministry are Frantisek Palko and Andrei Golak.
