Biography

In 1942 he graduated from the Experimental Cinema Center in Rome. He started as a film critic in the magazines Bianco e Nero and Cinema . He was an assistant director. He wrote many scripts, in particular for Visconti (“ Obsession ”), Rossellini (“ Europe-51 ”), Lattuada (“ She-wolf ”) and others, until in 1953 he made his debut as a director (“ Love for half a century ”). He died during the filming of the next film.

Father of Italian director and songwriter Paolo Pietrangeli .
