Biography

Born in the city of Ordzhonikidze (now - the city of Vladikavkaz ). Mother - Kosherkhan Tokhovna Borukaeva (Kosha Alexandrovna [4] ); father - Emil Teodorovich Kio .

Until 1955 he studied at secondary school No. 16 of Moscow .

In the years 1955-1960 he studied at the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute , where he received the specialty of "urban engineer". His diploma project participated in a competition for reconstruction, landscaping and planning of Theater Square in the city of Ryazan , won a competition, and a square was made for this project. The USSR Ministry of Education awarded him the medal "For the best scientific student work of the USSR" [4] . He worked as a foreman in the construction of embankments and bridges.

Since 1961 he began to perform in the attraction as an assistant to his father, Emil Kio [5] . He became an artist of the All-Union Creative and Production Association of State Circuses “ Soyuzgosirc ”. He developed a new circus number: the magician took a soft rope, threw it up - and the rope became a solid pole, which the gymnast climbed. When the gymnast descended, the pole again became a soft rope.

He married Iolanta Olkhovikova , who was before this the wife of his brother Igor .

In 1966 he created his own illusionary attraction. In addition to Russia, he toured in the GDR , Holland , Mexico , Germany , Switzerland , Japan , Cuba [6] , France , Sweden , Norway , South America , and the USA [4] . He gave more than 14,000 submissions, he was seen by more than 60 million viewers [4] .

After the death of his father, he worked in a circus with his brother Igor [7] .

In 1976-1992 in the magazine " Young Technician " led the column "On the Other Side of the Focus", where he told how to do 186 tricks.
